How Therapy works

Your feelings and symptoms are important messengers.

Most therapy works at the thinking level, understanding, reframing, managing and redirecting thought patterns. That has some value, but it’s not the complete picture. It tends to creates change in the short term at a surface level..

This therapeutic work goes deep into the emotional mind, to the subconscious level, where patterns were formed, so that the unwanted emotion can be released.

If we want to understand ourselves as adults we have to look back at the formative years that brought us to maturity.

The emotional mind does not respond to logic. It responds to experience to being heard, understood, and finally allowed to make sense.

Therapy provides a space outside of yourself where you can grow and develop, where you can understand how your experiences shaped the person you are today. It allows you to grow beyond what holds you back so that you can life a life rich in enjoyment, satisfaction and meaning.

THE APPROACHES

Methods are chosen just for you.

Matching tools, protocols and interventions to presenting feelings and symptoms is fine

Analytical Hypnotherapy

Reaching the emotional material that created a symptom, so the symptom no longer has to carry the message. You remain aware and in control throughout.

Integrative Hypno-Psychotherapy

Understanding how early relationships shaped the way you relate to yourself and others now — and what that has cost.

CBT Therapy – Enhanced with Hypnotherapy

Explore the link between thoughts, feelings and behaviours while also working with deeper emotional patters. Relaxation, imagery and behavioural rehearsal are used selectively, according to the person and what they need.

Regression Therapy

Working directly with the body’s stored response, often reducing the physical charge of an experience quickly and safely.

The past rarely remains in the past.
Therapy helps us bring awareness, compassion, and healing to those early wounds.

Common questions

You may be wondering…

Yes. Counselling typically focuses on talking through current difficulties. The work here goes deeper — exploring the emotional roots and early experiences that created the patterns in the first place. Many clients have had counselling before and found it helpful but incomplete. The difference is that we work with the emotional mind, not just the thinking mind.

This varies depending on what you bring and how deep the work goes. Some people notice significant shifts in 6-8 sessions. Others work with me over a longer period. We discuss this openly from the start — there is no pressure to commit to a number upfront.

Yes — many clients work with me exclusively online and find it just as effective. The depth of the work doesn’t change. You simply need a quiet, private space and a reliable connection.

That uncertainty is completely normal. A first consultation is not a commitment, it’s a conversation. You can ask questions, describe what’s been happening, and get a sense of whether working together feels right, without any pressure.
